Waaaah, temptation, temptation. I got them all lined up on my bed, along with William's Obstetrics, Robbin's Pathology, and G&A Notes. Alin, alin ang babasahin ko? I've got to make a powerpoint presentation tomorrow... an exam on Monday... present our research paper on Tuesday... SGDs to prepare for, papers to rewrite, lectures to listen to... waaaah!!! Temptation!!! *grin* You know what they say: 'All work and no play makes one a dull boy'. Well, girl in my case. So... sanity break! And I've got a lot of books to choose from. Yey!

Thank you thank you dear new old friend Manong Bingbong! *bighug* They are lovely birthday gifts. And guess what, I didn't badger Bimbo for them. *wink* But hey, wish you could be here on my birthday. That'd be even lovelier. Yeah, you could say I'm sweet in my own special way. *laughs* =) Thank you again, very much. Happy studying!

korean

Our country's being overrun by them. But that's not my point.

I've been craving for Korean food since last Sunday and at last, my craving was satisfied. I, along with my friends Rea, Bimbo and Gelai ate at a Korean restaurant near our house. It was great! Busog-busog gid ko ya! Yum, yum. It was my first time to eat Kimchi. Tatay was the only one who would touch that particular food sa house namin before. Ang baho kase so I didn't dare taste it. Masarap naman pala. And the food was really excellent. We fried meat at our table, then wrapped the meat along with egg rolls, kimchi, and kung ano-ano pang side dishes yun, sa chinese cabbage and we popped it in our mouths. Sarrrap!!! =) There was this one dish na sabi ni Gelai lagi daw kinakain sa My Girl na hindi ko masyado gusto. I prefer the frying and wrapping. Sinipon ako sa anghang pero ok lang, ang sarap talaga e!

I also enjoy watching Korean shows. Yeah, I watch Princess Hours too, and yung My Girl. Pero not on TV. I borrow DVD copies of the shows and spend days watching it. Enjoy. Hehe. Nakakatuwa. I have this private stash of Korean cds. All sappy, funny, romantic, heart-breaking Korean movies. Hahaha. So sue me. =) Of course my favorite is Sassy Girl. Who doesn't? I hope to get the prequel pero wala pa kong nakikita.

nanay

Birthday ni Nanay yesterday, February 22. She is now 59. She doesn't look it. ^_^. Good genes.

Tinext ko siya kahapon, sabi ko sana bigyan pa siya ni Lord ng maraming taon pa para makita nya naman ang mga apo niya. Sumagot naman si Nanay at sabi nya: "sana nga. Yun e kung magsisipag-asawa kayo." Natawa ako. Honga naman.

Mas na-appreciate ko si Nanay ngayon dahil nasa OB Block kami ngayon at nakapanood na ako ng normal delivery. Grabe. Salamat nanay sa pagbubuntis sa akin, sa pagkain ng mabuti, at sa pag-ire. Sa aming tatlo. Grabe. Hmmm..... nako, baka kahit na mag-asawa ako e hindi kayo magkaka-apo saken. Parang ayoko yata maranasan yung hirap na yon!

Si Nanay ay best girl namin sa bahay. Dabest ang lasagna niya. At yung honey-baked chicken. At kahit anong lutuin nya actually, masarap. Pag tumatawa siya ng grabe, lumuluha siya. Hehe. May pagka-bataon din to si nanay. Kaya may pinagmanahan lang ako. ^__^! Makulit siya, mahilig sa corny na joke sa text, iyakin (isa pang minana ko), cool magdamit at mag-accessorize at mahilig din sa chocolates. At syempre, maganda siya, kaya nga pag sinasabi ng mga tao na kamukha ko daw sya, masaya ako.

Nanay is a great example of how I should be. As a Christian, a woman, and a wife. Ang prayer ko is that I could be like her, kahit kalahati lang, masaya na ako. I thank God for giving me to her nung pumili Siya ng magiging nanay ko. I got the best in the world.

snail mail

I love getting letters. Sure I enjoy getting emails and comments on my blogs and testimonials and public comments and YMs but nothing beats good old snail mail. I love it that when I get home from school I am welcomed by a letter on my bed from someone I haven't seen, heard from, or hugged for a very long time. It's therapy I tell you. I'm a sucker for snail mail. No matter how long or short or bad the handwriting, they're all appreciated and gushed over appropriately. Haha.Getting snail mail is really fun kase I get to keep the pieces of paper and the stamps. =) When I'm sad I like to open up my stash of collected letters and notes and read through them and remember who gave it to me, when I received it, and how I felt when I first read it. It's another form of therapy. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling after. Corny na kung corny. Basta, ganun.

I can't remember when I last received a Valentine card. Not the e-card ones ha. Twas a nice surprise to get one this year. Lol.

ilonggos

Last Sunday was our church's 5th year anniversary. wheee! Of course there was food. We're not named Calorie Chapel Fellowship for nothing. Ooops, I meant Calvary Chapel. Hehe. Anyway, there were fruits and chicken and barbecue and pasta and pastries. And lechon, yep there was lechon but I didn't get any. I'm not really a lechon eater. Ang kinain ko was the chicken (because I love chicken kaya nga perfect na andito ako sa West Visayas nakatira) and the siomai and the grapes. I think I was one of those who ate all the grapes. Si Nang Bjo ung isa pang umubos nung grapes... Hehe.

Anyway, my story really is that I ate with Nang Bjo, Nong RJ (oo, Manong ka para kunyari may paggalang naman daw ako sayo kahit paano, waha!), Yanyan, and Ate Ging. And while we were eating we got to talking about stuff. Well, sure they weren't stuff that could alter the way the world turns, but they were fun nonetheless. So enough with the intro.

As usual, I was quite sarcastic and loud (of course) and I wasn't the only one I might add. All of us IVHomers were. Basta we were being ourselves and we asked kuya RJ if we were shocking him already. And the conversation went something like this (of course it's not verbatim):

"Nabibigla ka na ba namin? Baka kase nashoshock ka na namin masyado."

"Ay hindi, comfortable nga ako sa ganito e. Mas gusto ko nga yung ganito."

"Hindi ba kami masyadong sarcastic? Or baka nahu-hurt ka na namin, sabihin mo lang."

"Ay hindi, take it from an Ilonggo who grew up in Manila, mas ok yung ganito. At least I know where I stand with you guys."

"Ano ba ang mga Ilonggos?"

"Yung mga Ilongga kase, ang sweet sweet kala mo may gusto sayo pero yun pala may boyfriend na. Tsaka di mo alam kung galit na."

Ok so that was kinda the gist of it. Panalo pa rin yung last comment nya. Hehe. I've said many times that I want to be an Ilongga, that I am now an Ilongga. But in that respect.... ang pagiging sweet na parang may gusto tapos wala pala... in that respect I'm no Ilongga. I don't think I've fully adopted that imperturbable Ilongga calm and sweetness. Wahahaha, far from it. I'm no dalaga. Sabi nga ni Nong Andre about me: I'm a lovely girl. If I were a woman, I'd have a boyfriend. Wahahaahahahahaha! Hilarious.

Te, amo gid ni bala? Hehe.

housemates

Kahapon ay nagka-yayaan kaming mag-housemates na maglakad patungo sa kakainan namin matapos ang post-valentine activity ng GSCF sa Calvary Chapel. Kasama ko si Ate Ging, si Nang Bjo at si Ivan. At habang kami ay naglalakad patungo sa Blue Jay's dapat, ay nag-kodakan kami. Dumaan kami ng Tijuana's pero hindi namin type yung banda dun (na pumiyok yung vocalist tamang-tamang pagpasok namin) at amoy sigarilyo kase. So naglakad kami ulit papuntang Blue Jay's nang nag-aya si Ivan mag-Mama Maria's na lang kami. At pinagbigyan naman namin siya. Kumain kami dun at inabutan kami ng band din nila. Buti na lang at nagustuhan namin yung tunog acoustic nung mga boys na yun. At kami lang ata sa buong place yung may naririnig dahil mejo kami lang ung nagre-react at nakiki-kanta dun. Umuwi kami ng alas-onse pasado na ata. Sige lang, may kasama naman kaming staff worker. Hehe.

water!

Finally! we have running water in IVHome! we waited for 5months, fetched water from the pump everyday, toned our muscles carrying buckets of water everytime we needed it, and at last, our dreams and prayers have been fulfilled! we have gushing, running, frothy, abundant water coming out of our faucets!

ano ngayon?

e ano ba ngayon? valentine's day daw ngayon. so nag-greet naman ako sa mga friends ko ng happy valentine's day. at nag-kiss pa ko sa kanila, in fairness. kung ano man ang meaning nun sa kultura natin, happy valentine's day na rin sa inyo. mwah!

nagkalat ang roses sa school. wala na ba silang ibang maisip na bulaklak? at least di lang pula ang nakita ko kanina, buti naman. may mga papel din na pwedeng bilhin tapos idi-deliver sa kung sino man gusto mo. pwede din mapa-picturan yung crush mo or kung sino man. ano ba yan. dami din nakipag-date ngayon after nung class namin. hay, ewan. valentine's daw kase.

lumabas kami kanina ng mga barkada ko. mga bingkong kase kami lahat. kumain kami sa Afrique's kase masarap yung pasta dun e. at abaw! kaganda ng decorations nila. parang may mga canopy sa labas, may mga lanterns pa. sabi nila para lang daw yun today. valentine's kase e. a, ewan talaga. next time iba na kakainan namin kase mejo nakakasawa na dun. natikman na ata namin lahat ng nasa menu dun! hehe. adik sa pasta.

ayan, malapit na matapos ang valentine's. di ako apektado. hehe...

feb stuff

hay. once again my scatterbrainyness got the better of me. i once again forgot my username and password for this blog. napaka-galing na bata.

anyway, this month's been great. it's February after all. my second most favorite month of the year because it's my birth month! yey! *clap, clap* (December's the best because of Christmas.) i turn older again this month... i'm almost a quarter of a century old... almost, but not quite. and i had this said about me recently: "tint is a beautiful girl. if she became a woman, she wouldn't be bingkong this valentine's." wahat?! ano daw?! hehe, it got me laughing for some reason. wahaha! =)

last Feb 6, I went on my first OB duty. =) and i got to witness the miracle of birth twice. sayang nga kase twice lang. pero ok pa rin. one was a normal vaginal delivery and the second was a delivery by cesarian section. unfortunately, i didn't get to see a D&C or forceps delivery. owel, we can't win all the time. haay... it was... traumatic? fascinating? awesome? cool? all of the above and more!

it was great to get to see those babies being born. i was walking on clouds that entire day. it seemed nothing could break my happy mood. hehe. i got to wondering how my own birth went. and i got to reflect on how much pain i gave nanay at that time (and giving her still, i guess). when i got home i texted nanay and greeted her Happy Mother's Day in advance. she deserved it. to think that she went through labor and the normal delivery with episiotomy for me. phew! ako nga parang ayoko na manganak. grabe. it was a bloody mess. nyikes!

new beginning

I've been putting off blogging since the year started because i wanted to move from friendster. A friend told me friendster takes a long time to upload kase. Anyway, i opened a livejournal account but the problem was.... hehe, i forgot my username and password. And somebody told me that she can't comment sa livejournal kase di daw sya member. wahaha! ayun. so to try to please as many as i can (so sue me!) eto na ulit ako dito sa blogspot. also, i can't figure out how to use the livejournal kase! ahahaha!

Bagong taon ay magbagong buhay.... as the song goes. so here i am. i hope i can update this often. if living doesn't get in the way of my plans that is.
